Retirement pension under a public sector pension plan
Retirement pension* 90 days or the month of retirement, whichever is later  
Benefits other than the retirement pension* 90 days This includes refunds of contributions, transfers to a locked-in retirement account (LIRA) or life income fund (LIF), payment of the actuarial value of the retirement pension, and disability or terminal illness benefits.
Income continuity The 15th day of the month following the month of retirement

Retraite Québec will make the first payment or send you an advance on the day indicated if, on the date of your retirement, you are employed in the public sector and your application for a retirement pension was received at least 20 days before the date of retirement.

Surviving spouse’s pension* 90 days The response time may be longer if you are a de facto (common law) spouse, because you will have to provide information to confirm your situation
Statement of Participation 45 days  
Pension estimate 90 days If you can retire within 4 to 14 months.

Child assistance payment – Births in Québec 40 days The time is counted from when the Registrar of Civil Status receives the information on the birth of your child and ends when Retraite Québec begins the payments.
