The activities are offered in French only.
The activities do not provide continuing education units (CEU) or recognized training hours.

Clientele
The training activity is for all pension administrators, more specifically:
- for a person who is a member of a pension committee, whether he or she has little or no experience with regard to administering a pension plan
- for a person who is an experienced member of a pension committee who wants to update his or her knowledge in administering a pension plan
- for a person who intends to become a member of a pension committee.
Content
The training activity provides basic information on the role and responsibilities that a person exercises as a member of a pension committee.
It provides examples and situations that illustrate the main elements of the administration of a pension plan that the pension committee must know to carry out its duties, including an example on the distribution of duties over the course of a year.
It discusses in particular:
- the legal obligations of the pension committee and the responsibility of its members
- the main duties of the pension committee
- the operating rules of the pension committee
- the governance rules of the pension committee.
Preparation
If you can obtain a copy from the secretary of the pension committee, you could read the following documents before the training activity:
- the pension plan text concerned
- the internal by-laws of the pension committee, which specify the operating and governance rules.

- for a person who is a member of a pension committee, whether he or she has little or no experience with regard to administering a pension plan
- for a person who is an experienced member of a pension committee who wants to update his or her knowledge in administering a pension plan
- for a person who intends to become a member of a pension committee.
Content
The training activity provides basic information on the minimum requirements of the Supplemental Pension Plans Act for defined-benefit pension plan regarding:
- the benefits of members and beneficiaries
- the registration of the amendments
- the funding of a plan.
It provides examples that illustrate the rules that the members of the pension committee must know to facilitate decision-making and the supervision of the administration of a defined-benefit pension plan.
It discusses in particular:
- the required contributions paid into the pension fund
- the minimum benefits provided for in the Supplemental Pension Plans Act
- the rules related to transfers and refunds
- the various statements that the committee must provide to the members and beneficiaries
- the reports that the pension committee must provide to Retraite Québec.

- the name of your employer or the name of your pension plan;
- your choice of payment method among the following:
Payment by credit card is not accepted.
- Once we have received the requested information in step 1, we will email you a reference number to make your payment.
- Once we have received your payment, you will receive a confirmation of your registration by email.
- Your registration confirmation email serves as an invoice.
Registration fees are $150 per person, per training activity, taxes included. They are broken down as follows:

You must pay the registration fees before 6 February 2026.

To cancel your registration, you must make a request to [email protected].
You will then receive an email confirming the cancellation.
The registration fees are refundable if the request for cancellation is made not later than 4 working days before the activity takes place and if the information regarding the activity has not been provided.
To obtain confirmation of your attendance, you must make a request to [email protected].
We will ensure that your name appears on the list of participants on Teams.
Online training on Teams
Within 3 working days before the training activity, we will send you by email:
- the presentation that will be used during the training activity and any other useful document
- the link to access the training activity.
- A computer, an electronic tablet or a smart phone
- High speed internet connection.
You do not have to download the Teams application on your work station.
You can chat or use a microphone to communicate and interact with the trainor during the training activity.
Log in 15 minutes before the beginning of the activity. To do so:
- Click on the link that was sent to you by email.
- Turn off your microphone and camera to avoid feedback and free up the bandwidth.
- Click on the Join now button.
Only one connection is permitted per email address.
The training activity will not be recorded.
